PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer, Boat Captain, Owner
Growing up in coastal Southern California meant a life full of surfing, fishing, and of course diving. He decided at a young age that he wanted his life to be surrounded by water. David came to Oahu during a winter break from lifeguarding the beaches of Los Angeles and fell in love with the people and ocean culture. What was supposed to be a long vacation turned into a permanent move. He met Melanie in 2010 and together they started Living Ocean Scuba. “Some people say that they feel trapped on an island surrounded by water, I couldn’t feel more free.”

Nate survived growing up in Alabama to travel the globe while exploring the undersea world. SCUBA and the ocean are what helps this guy wake up early everyday, and showing others how to safely experience it is an added perk to the job. He has worked and lived in the Caribbean, South East Asia, Fiji, and the beautiful islands of Hawaii. He doesn’t mind being labelled as one of those people: “You wont work a day in your life, if you work with what you love and are passionate about.”
PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer, Master’s Marine Biology
Aloha, my passion for the underwater world began at the age of twelve when I first got certified to scuba dive. After studying evolutionary biology at the University of Colorado, my love for the ocean brought me to Hawaii in order to pursue a career as a dive instructor. I have worked here in Oahu teaching scuba since 2010, however, I recently left the island to finish my Master’s degree in Marine Biology at James Cook University in Australia. While there, I researched the effects of how rising carbon-dioxide levels in the ocean affect the fish that we see on our coral reefs. I returned to Oahu in September of 2015, and have worked with Living Ocean Scuba ever since. I look forward to sharing my passion for coral reefs with you and we hope to see you soon!

It all started when Greg was a young boy in Oklahoma. His parents would take family trips to Florida. When he saw the ocean for the first time and felt a deep connection he knew his purpose involved the the ocean. Greg’s love for the ocean grew throughout his teenage and adult years and in 2006 he decided to move to Florida and study Marine Biology to become a research diver and Dive instructor full time. Greg attended Pro Dive USA in Ft Lauderdale, Florida and competed the ROS (Resort Operation Specialist). Greg also worked at Diver Supply in Atlanta, GA where he was an instructor, service tech and retail sales rep. After Diver Supply Greg came to Oahu to live the Hawaiian dream in 2008. During his time here he has achieved PADI MSDT and received multiple PADI ELITE instructor awards. Also has become certified in fully closed circuit rebreathers. Greg passion for the ocean shows on every dive, from his patient demeanor when he teaches to his excitement when he’s leading dives. As a Dive Instructor for Living Ocean Scuba Greg’s number one goal is to make everyone feel safe on every dive!
PADI IDC Staff Instructor
Growing up in Indiana Alex always had a healthy fear of the ocean but the curiosity got the best of him. He started diving as an early teen. After finishing his bachelors degree from Ball State University he set off for the Caribbean to work on boats as a Divemaster. After hopping around the Caribbean for a few years and picking up his Open Water Instructor certification he decided to head to the Pacific. Alex has been on Oahu for a several years working on boats as an instructor. Being good friends with the Living Ocean staff since day one he noticed that they were becoming a group of the best instructors on island, and wanted to be a part of the group. The only thing better than his skills as an instructor are his HILARIOUS jokes.
